Led by lead singer, Stephan Jenkins, band members, Brad Hargreaves, Kryz Reid, Colin Creev, and Alex LeCavalier, all assumed their positions, and opened their set with, “Thanks a Lot”, from their 1997 debut album. Smallpools was a great choice to open the show, and did a great job of getting the crowd hyped for what was about to come.Īfter a brief intermission, the lights dimmed, smoke filled the stage, and the crowd went crazy as Third Eye Blind took the stage. A few standout songs for me were, “Mother”, a catchy break-up anthem, “People Watching”, a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep”, and “Killer Whales”, where the band threw an inflatable whale into the crowd. Scanlon, the lead singer of the band, had a lot of interaction with the crowd, and the trio put on a great performance. Having never heard of the band, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. Smallpools, formed in 1993, consists of Sean Scanlon, Mike Kamerman, and Beau Kuther. The night’s entertainment kicked off with Smallpools, a Los Angeles-based, Indie Pop band. If you’re a fan of laser lights, smoke, video screens, and Alternative Rock music, the Orpheum Theater in Omaha, Nebraska was the place to be on Tuesday night November 26, 2019.
